Thomas MURTAGH, son of William MURTAGH (1824-1879) and Margaret TAAFFE (1841-1916), was born on Friday, 19 July 1867 in Chamberlands Town, Co. Meath (Vol. 12, page 824, Kells). He was baptised (Rootsireland / Church record) on Sunday, 21 July 1867 in Kells, Co. Meath. The godparents were James Mulvaney and Anne Taaffe. Thomas worked as a Shop Assistant in Leverett and Frye, 36 Grafton Street, Dublin.
Thomas Murtagh married Sarah T BRADLEY on Monday, 6 September 1897 in St Michael's & John Church, Dublin. The witnesses were Nicholas Murtagh and Lizzy Clancy. The celebrant was Rev. Eugene MacCarthy (Vol. 2, page 664, Dublin South). According to 1901 census (31 March) Thomas was 31 years of age and living in 71 Dame Street, Dublin (beside the Empire Place Theatre (now Olympia Theatre) and above a shop). Living in the same building was Catherine Bradley, his mother-in-law aged 50 years of age. Thomas Murtagh's appears on the 1908 Electoral Register and living in 13 Leo Avenue, Dublin. According to 1911 census (2 April), Thomas was 42 years of age and living in the two roomed flat in 2 Gratton Street, Dublin, the same building where his mother (Margaret Murtagh) was living.
Thomas Murtagh died on Wednesday, 11 June 1913 in The Hospice, Harold's Cross, Dublin aged 45 years and was buried on Friday, 13 June 1913 in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin (St Paul's - SB51) - no headstone.
Sarah T BRADLEY, daughter of Thomas BRADLEY (1843-1890) and Catherine TALBOT (1837-1872), was born on Thursday, 16 January 1868 in 1 Phibsboro Place, Dublin. According to the Family Bible, Sarah had 1 brother (John Joseph Bradley b. 26 Aug 1866 and d. 13 Nov 1891) and one sister (Mary Bradley b. 11 Sep 1871). According to the 1901 census (31 March), Sarah was 30 years of age and living in 71 Dames Street, Dublin (beside the Empire Place Theatre (now the Olympia Theatre) and above a shop). Living in the same building was Catherine Bradley, her mother, who was 50 years of age. According to 1911 census (2 April), Sarah was 43 years of age and living in the two roomed flat in 2 Gratton Street, Dublin, the same building where his mother-in-law (Margaret Murtagh) was living. According to Thom's Directory in 1933, Sarah T Murtagh became the registered owner of 27 Emorville Avenue, South Circular Road, Dublin. (Sarah's mother, Catherine Bradley was the owner of the house from 1925 until her death in 1930). Sarah lived in 27 Emorville Avenue with her daughter (Mary) and son (Thomas) until her death. Sarah was on Electoral Register in 1927 and the Electoral Register 1339-1940 shows Sarah T, Mary J, and Thomas G living in 27 Emorville Avenue, Dublin.
Sarah T Murtagh died on Monday, 18 January 1954 in Dublin at 86 years of age (Vol. 2, page 419) and was buried on Wednesday, 20 January 1954 in Glasnevin Cemetery (St. Brigid's - JH 205.5) with her parents (Thomas & Catherine Bradley) and her brother (John Joseph).

Daniel HARRINGTON, son of John HARRINGTON (1849-1921) and Mary MURPHY (1856-1909), was born on 28 May 1885 in Cork City (Vol. 5, page 84, Cork). He was baptised in the Cathedral of St Mary and St Anne (Register 12, page 292, entry 12, ID 566085). According to the 1901 census (31 March), Daniel was 15 years of age and living in 365 Blarney Street, Cork with his father and mother, four brothers and one sister. He was a Telegraphist. According to 1911 census (2 April), Daniel was a boarder in 48 Laraghcon, Lucan, the house owned by Margaret Byrne. Also living in the house were her daughters (Ellen and Mary Byrne) and her niece (Mary Ellen Byrne) who later married Daniel Harrington in 1912.
Daniel married Mary Ellen BYRNE on Wednesday, 11 September 1912 in St. Mary's Church, Lucan, Co Dublin (Vol. 2, page 406, Celbridge). The witnesses were Joseph Byrne and Mick Byrne. The celebrant was Rev. William Hanley. They lived in 11 Sarsfield Terrace, Lucan and after 1916 in 50 Ring Street, Inchicore, Dublin. Daniel was on Electoral Register in 1937 in Ring Street along with Mary Ellen, Carmel, Arthur and Patrick Joseph. The five were also on the Register for 1939-40. The 1941-42 list included Hannah (Edna). The list was the same with the exclusion of Arthur for 1942-43 and 1943-45. The 1944-45 Electoral Register listed Daniel, Mary Ellen, Carmel, Hannah (Edna) and Daniel (Jun).
Daniel died on Saturday, 26 August 1944 in Dublin at 59 years of age (Vol. 2, page 386, Dublin South). Daniel was buried on Friday, 1 September 1944 in Esker Cemetery, Lucan, Co. Dublin with his son (Cornelius) - memorial card.
Mary Ellen BYRNE, daughter of James BYRNE (1855-1933) and Maryanne CREWE ( -1920), was born on Saturday, 29 April 1882 in Lucan, Co. Dublin (Vol. 2, page 737, Dublin South). Mary was baptised on Wednesday, 3 May 1882 in Church of Immaculate Conception, Clondalkin, Co. Dublin (Book 5, page 33). According to the 1901 census (31 March), Mary Ellen was 18 years of age and working as a Cloth Presser in the Lucan Woollen Mills.
According to 1911 census (2 April), she was residing in the house of her grandmother (Margaret) and aunts (Ellen and Mary) at 48 Laracon, Lucan. Also residing in the house as a boarder was Daniel Harrington who was to become her future husband. Mary was on Electoral Register in 1937. So also were Daniel, Carmel, Arthur and Patrick Joseph. The five were also on the Register for 1939-40. The 1941-42 list included Hannah (Edna). The list was the same with the exclusion of Arthur for 1942-43 and 1943-45. The 1944-45 Electoral Register listed Daniel, Mary Ellen, Carmel, Hannah (Edna) and Daniel (Jun).
Mary Ellen died on Sunday, 24 June 1951 in Inchicore, Dublin (Vol. 2, page 393, Apr-Jun, Dublin South). She was buried on Monday, 25 June 1951 in Esker Cemetery with her husband (Daniel) and son (Cornelius) - memorial card.
